What is Cruise with a Mission?
Cruise with a Mission is a unique spiritual retreat, social gathering, and service opportunity for young adults. The goals are that our young adults, ages 18 to 35, will renew their spiritual journeys, discover meaningful community, and explore the joy of service. Many young adults are disengaged from God and authentic community. Our hope is that Cruise with a Mission will be a catalyst for our somewhat disengaged generation to cultivate a transforming lifestyle of connecting with God, building authentic Christian community, and engaging in service.

Who can go on CWM?
Cruise with a Mission is open to anyone. Just keep in mind that the programming is targeted for young adults ages 18 to 35.

What if I'm under 18?
This mission has been designed for young adults ages 18 to 35. All participants must be 18 by December 14th, 2008, due the focus and nature of the trip. Also, one person in each cabin (which can have two to four people) must be 21 or older.

I'm a leader, how do I get involved in the leadership of CWM?
There is a vast number of ways to get involved in leadership for CWM. We definitely have possibilities in your areas of giftedness. If you would like to serve in any of the following ways such as photography, mission trip leader, or on-ship programming, please let us know by filling in the contact us page on the CWM site, cruisewithamission.org.

What countries will we be visiting?
The ship stops at several ports on our 7-day cruise. They are: Key West, Florida, USA; Belize City, Belize, Central America (CA); Santo Tomas De Castillo, Guatemala, CA; and Costa Maya, Mexico.

Can I book with another company for the same cruise?
If you want to be a part of CWM, you have to book your trip through our agent. We are limited to the amount of people we take on the trip and our numbers are based on those who book with our agent.

Can you give me an estimate on the cost of CWM?
Cabin Berth - varies depending on what size of room you would like (prices start at $569).
Flight/travel to Tampa, Florida - varies depending on the method, i.e. driving, airplane, train, etc.
CWM Fee - $350 plus agent fee of $25.

What about the atmosphere of a cruise ship?
Our cruise company, Holland America, is a more upscale luxury cruise-line which caters to the retired segment of the population. In other words, this is not the cruise-line that you hear about in the news where people are drugged and intoxicated the entire time. We found the atmosphere to be very conducive to spiritual reflection and positive social engagement.

Can arrangements be made for special dietary needs?
Yes. There will be lacto-ovo vegetarian and vegan menus with many tasty options available. Also, special arrangements can be made ahead of time for unique needs (allergies, etc).

What travel documents do I need?
You will need a passport that does not expire within six months of the trip, your travel arrangements to Tampa, Florida, your ticket (sent to you by the cruise company when you make your final payment). If you are not a United States citizen, it is also your responsibility to obtain any necessary visas for Mexico, Belize, and Guatemala.

What happens after Cruise with a Mission?
We don't want Cruise with a Mission to end after just 7 days. CWM can be a catalyst for life-transformation. We plan to ignite and equip young adults for service in our local communities and around the world. Our Young Adult Partners will be key in helping this network stay connected by being contact and resource people in their local areas.
